Through intuition I carve beams, tracks, and towers. Technology not yet realized. This world’s trains and bridges are facets of our entertainment. In the to and from, in our daily commute, we would soar through the steel and iron on journeys of adrenaline. This world works in the interest of human emotion. Everything optimized- not a moment wasted.
In all of its abstraction it at first does not make sense. But like a riddle it unfolds and latches onto you. Alive and kinetic, these worlds jump off the page. Look at them up close and then from afar. Squint your eyes to find a new perspective.
What initially served as a palate cleanser for my large scale figurative paintings quickly turned into its own body of work. These pieces allowed me to clear my head and find new direction. They are stripped down. Framed and matted in stark white, ready to be displayed.
